Ok, here are the basic programs that we use, if
you need a tutorial for any of them you know what to do! Just send and e-mail
either of us, or even better just drop by the forum. The more people that want
the same tutorial, the better odds your gonna get it.
Autodesk 3ds Studio Max - This is a big one I use. This
program is the number one program for creating 3d design for videogames, and
just about any other 3d you'll need, with it's incredibly strong opengl reaction
script, animation comes extremely easy and accurate. Things start to move aroung
just like their in real life. This is also the main reason I use this program,
creating objects and characters for my videos for when I don't have the people
or the money to get these things in real life. If you want to download a trial
just go to their home page under "Products"
and there you'll find 3ds Studio Max.

Adobe After Effects - Another big program I use. Great program for editing gunshots, adding animation, special effects. Including stacking layers, keying, etc. the list continues. Awesome for importing and exporting lots of filetypes, including the basics; avi, mov, mepg, mpeg4, mp3, wave, etc. Has really nice controls for quick editing, for when the job needs done fast. User friendly setup makes the program look very basic but is actually a very complex program, mostly to take away fron the hours of time you would spend in any other program. If you want a trial of the software just go to their website under "Products" and there you'll see After Effects, just look for a trial or purchase, expensive but very worth it in the time that was spent making this program.

Adobe Premeir Pro - Actually don't use this program that much, though as soon as we get start making longer videos with more scenes it's almost unnecessary. Right now after I edit with After Effects I just add together the final scenes footage in Windows Movie Maker, still would not recommend Movie maker this is because the program crashes constantly without notice. Definatly will look into purchasing this program if I become more serious in film making. You can find a trial download at their website under "Products."

Adobe Photoshop - Basically a nicessity for any artist in any field, even music; for cover art. This is, in my opinion, the most easyest, the most flexible, and the most powerful image editig software on the market today. Along with all of the other programs that are made with Adobe they all integrate into each other, meaning you can save a Photoshop file, with layers and effects added to the image, and open it in after effects, with all the layers and everything in contact so that you can possibly animate depth into you photos. You can get your download of the trial at their website under "Products."

Autodesk AutoCAD - Not used as much by me but hey, im not an architect, so what would I really need this program for other than to learn the basics of how the 3d world is set up with grids. Figuring exactly what angles and distances to make and place objects unioning and subracting pieces of objects together to make more complex objects. This program started of as just a complex 2d/3d program for designing building structures, but has now evolved into a full fledged 3d program, turning your old 2d blueprints into three dimensional references. You can even texture and get a feel for the buildings you design before you build them. Get your download of the trial at their website under "Products."

iTunes - Aha! Didn't expect this one did you? The only reason I use this program (and no, not for my iPod, which I don't own) is because this is the only program that I could find in a short amount of time that could convert my audio formats the other types of formats, usually for compression purposes, and for free. Most programs do the same thing but want you to pay a cartain sum of money just to do exactly what iTunes does for free. This can interchange filetypes at the click of a button, good and accurately. You can get your download free at their website.

FL Studio - Don't use too often because I am not too huge on composing music that sounds kinda like techno, I am not saying that it always sounds that way, I am just more of a movie guy. This program is the only program you need if you want to write music on your computer, there are so many plugins, sound files, and modifiers that you can make any music you can think. Though the program setup will throw any beginner for a loop. If you don't want to mess with a learning curve just stick to your good 'ol real instrument, and your microphone. You can get your download of the trial at their website under the "Demo" section.

FL Studio System Requirements
Windows: 2000/XP/2003/Vista (32 & 64 bit)

Sony Acid Studio - This is where you get rid of the learning curve and step into the user friendly programs, where I was talking about using your good 'ol instruments. Just grab a mic, some drum loops, your instrument, and your good to go! You can cut, paste, loop, transpose, and add filters to each track. Unlike other programs, though, Acid Studio gives you unlimited mp3 renders so that you can throw you fresh track on to your mp3 player and show it off to your friends. You can get your download of the trial at their website and choose from the different versions.

Sony Acid Studio System Requirements
Windows: Windows XP or Vista

Windows Notepad - Probably didnt expect this one either, no need to download it's alrady on your pc, windows users. Great for coding html, good practice come with coding from scratch in notepad. You can find it under Start>All Programs>Accessories.
Also try Wordpad, located near Notepad.

Microsoft Visual Basic Express - Not used too much I'm still getting into coding, so try not to ask for any tutorials, unless it's the basics... the extreme basics. Used for creating Windows programs and if you download opengl plugins and get them installed you can even write a whole game engine and use 3ds Studio Max for the animtion and geometry creating program. Just think of making a whole game from scratch, that's quite a feat. You can get your download at their website and choose from the different versions, and languages, it's free just register.
